First Grade is such an important year, and we are going to have so much fun! One of our main goals is to become better readers and the best way is to practice. Parents should be reading with their children every day, while also practicing the Dolch words. Dolch words are the most common sight words that the children need to know in order to read and write more easily. Below are two links to websites that address the Dolch words. Be sure to check them out, especially the second site that allows your child to see and hear the word on screen. It is a fun and interactive way to remember those words.
